Expansion Joints
EXPANSION JOINTS
offer you a unique method of solving pipe motion
problems. We represent manufacturers that can design, manufacture, and
service any kind of expansion joint. We can offer expansion joints as small
as 1/4 inch, as large as 33 feet, any shape including round, rectangular
and oval. We've helped design and build expansion joints to handle very
high temperatures, and pressures greater than 3500 psi.
Metal Expansion Joints can be designed using a variety of different
alloys. They can be fabricated using several conventional fabricating
procedures including hydroform 3" to 72", Punchform 2" to 144",
Elastomerform 1/2" to 30", and Rollform 14" to 33' and larger. Our
expansion joints and connectors can handle any type of pipe motion. Low
-Corrugations, Mid -Corrugations, High -Corrugations, Control Ring
Reinforced, Externally-Pressurized, Safety-Valve Connectors and
Compensators are just a few of the types of expansion joints that can be
engineered and manufactured.
Non-Metallic Expansion Joints are available in addition to metal products. We can
manufacture non-metallic duct type, fabric and composite expansion joints
for the power generation, pulp and paper, cogeneration and many other
industries as well. Non-metallic joints are produced in various
configurations in order meet virtually any need. They can be engineered to
fit into an existing system without major changes to duct work. Several
materials are available including EPDM, FKM, PTFE, Darlyn, and Flexon.
EPDM (Ethylene Propylene
Diene Monomer) is a low cost compound that combines high tensile strength and elongation with very good flexing characteristics, low compression set, chemical resistance and excellent aging properties.
Recommended for applications under 330 degrees F.
FKM (Fluoroelastomer),
better know as Viton or Flurel, are are high performance elastomers
having outstanding resistance to chemical attack, abrasion,
weathering, ozone, and oil and heat aging when compared to any other elastomer. Recommended for applications under 400 degrees F.
PTFE
(Polytetrafluoroethylene) is a thermoplastic resin with remarkable chemical
and thermal properties. PTFE is very thermally stable having a
maximum operating temperature of 500 degrees F.
Darlyn is a fluorinated
elastoplastic alloy, which exhibits superior corrosion resistance and
provides exceptional performance in severe chemical environments.
Flexon is especially
designed to meet high temperature requirements. It has a continuous use rating of 700 degrees F, without composite insulation. This provides
superior strength retention, even after repeated flexings.
